Make Mother's Day Momentum for Healthy Women, Productive Women, For A Rising Bali

The head of the Denpasar City PKK Mobilization Team, Mrs. Sagung Antari Jaya Negara, Thursday, December 23, 2021, opened a webinar entitled "Healthy Women, Productive Women, Bali Rise". A series of webinars to commemorate Mother's Day were held by the Denpasar Women's Prosperous Movement (GWS) in collaboration with Prima Medika Hospital. The webinar which was held through the Zoom Meeting application and live streaming via Youtube was also attended by the Chairperson of the Denpasar City GWS DPC, Desak Nyoman Widiasih, S.H., M.H., with the moderator being the Director of Prima Medika Hospital, dr. Putu Dian Ekawati, MPH.

When opening the webinar Mrs. Sagung Antari Jaya Negara explained that the Covid-19 pandemic had a tremendous impact on the life of the community and the state. Many people have lost their jobs which are a source of family income. If this is allowed, in addition to making family life worse, the country can also crumble. Therefore, he invites together to get up immediately to restore this condition.

“We humans are given reason and mind, there are many things we can do to adapt to the new order of life. Awaken the family economy can be started from the household. Do creative and smart innovations from simple things,” said Mrs. Sagung Antari Jaya Negara while affirming, in a slumped condition like today, women must not surrender to the situation but must start to rise.

Mrs. Sagung Antari added that mothers/women play a very important role in the family. Mothers carry out many roles and functions, so they must always be in good health. “There are many factors that must be considered so that the lives of mothers/women are of quality. One of the important factors is reproductive health,” he said.

Knowledge of reproductive health is not enough for mothers/women alone. The central and local governments are responsible for providing information to the entire community, including the younger generation and youth. By providing this information and education to the younger generation, it is hoped that it will reduce the incidence of sexual prematurity, free sex, and the number of unwanted pregnancies that can lead to abortion and sexual infections, including HIV/AIDS.

The webinar presents a resource person, dr. IA Chandranita Manuaba, Sp.OG, Subsp. Obginsos (K), M.M., with the material "Knowing Women's Reproductive Health from an Early Age, Dr. Anak Agung Putu Sugiantiningsih, S.IP., M.AP., with the material "The Importance of Sexual Education and Dangers Among the Young Generation" and Cok Wife Mirahyani, SS, M.Sc., with the material "Healthy Women, Strong Households, Create a Resilient and Productive Generation, Turn Garbage Into Blessings”.

The webinar revealed that cases of sexual violence against children in recent times have attracted public attention. In fact, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection noted that sexual violence against children and women reached the highest number in 2020, which was around 7,191 cases. Therefore, teaching sex education to children from an early age will help children to fortify themselves from the risk of violence and sexual harassment in the future. This was stated by Deputy Chair III of Stispol Wira Bhakti, Dr. Anak Agung Putu Sugiantiningsih, S.IP., M.AP., as a resource person in a webinar.

Without an understanding of sexual education, children will find it difficult to fight this deviant treatment. "Unfortunately, there are still many parents and society who feel taboo and apathetic to talk about sexuality to their children," he said, adding that parents should start instilling sex education starting from the most basic level, such as the introduction of body organs and their functions so that children know why they shouldn't or shouldn't do this and that, what should be done and maintained, so that they have self-integrity, know that there are important parts of their bodies that other people shouldn't touch.

Meanwhile, dr. IA Chandranita Manuaba, Sp.OG, Subsp. Obginsos (K), M.M., a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology at RSD Mangusada, RSU Prima Medika, and Niki Diagnostic Clinic, reminded the importance of maintaining the health of the female reproductive system. Reproductive organs have various functions and have a big influence on a woman, so her health needs to be maintained as early as possible and does not let problems arise.

“Just like the face, the female reproductive organ is the lower face which has a very important role. Therefore, it is appropriate for the health of the female reproductive organs to be treated so that they are protected from various disorders, such as infection or injury," he said.
